Ninja espresso machine accessories

Ninja offers 3 types of espresso machines for home use. All of them have a 54mm group head and come with useful accessories like a dosing funnel and a tamper.

Still, with the right tools, you can take the quality of your Ninja coffee to the next level. Below, you’ll find all relevant barista tools for your Ninja espresso machine:

Knock box for Ninja

With the espresso function of a Ninja coffee machine, you can prepare various coffee drinks. But afterwards, you’re left with your used coffee puck.

A coffee knock box is more hygienic than knocking out your portafilter over a trash bin.

At Barista-Essentials, you’ll find knock boxes in 3 different sizes, suitable for every coffee setup. For a true café feeling at home, we also offer knock drawers with space for at least 17 coffee pucks.

Both our knock drawers and knock boxes are made from durable stainless steel.

Tamping mat

With your Ninja semi-automatic machine, you get a handy palm tamper. What’s missing, however, is a stable surface to tamp on: a tamping mat. It protects your countertop and your portafilter from damage.

We offer tamping mats with or without a corner. The best way to tamp is by pressing your portafilter against the edge of your countertop.

Ninja portafilter

Ninja espresso machines, such as the Luxe Café Premier and Luxe Café Pro, have a unique portafilter. In terms of diameter, they are similar to those of Sage or Solis, but they differ in depth.

Because of this, we currently don’t have a compatible Ninja portafilter in our range. But if you subscribe to our newsletter, you’ll be the first to know when this changes.

Cleaning your Ninja espresso machine

It’s important to take maintenance of your Ninja coffee machine seriously. This keeps it free from limescale and old coffee residue, which has a direct impact on the taste of your coffee.

Here’s how to properly clean your Ninja espresso machine:

  • Backflush once a week using the silicone portafilter insert. Press the brew button and let it run for a few seconds. Repeat this a few times.
  • Backflush with espresso machine cleaner once every 3 months
  • Descale, clean the grinder, and clean the steam wand once every 3 months

In addition, it’s important to rinse your group head with water after every espresso. This prevents coffee residue from sticking to the hot shower screen, which can clog your machine and affect your next shot.

Descaling your Ninja espresso machine

Descaling is an essential part of maintenance, especially if you live in an area with relatively hard water or use your machine frequently. Limescale can cause blockages and reduce how efficiently your boiler heats up.

Descale your Ninja espresso machine at least once per quarter using a coffee machine descaler. In between, we recommend using a water filter to reduce limescale buildup.

For Ninja machines, we offer a water filter pouch that you can place in the water tank. After 8 hours, your water is free from limescale. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
