When you buy a new espresso machine, you usually receive several portafilter baskets. Single baskets, dual wall baskets… the lot.

But which one actually helps you brew great espresso?

This portafilter basket does. It’s designed to pull a consistent double espresso using a classic 1:2 ratio: 18 grams in, 36 grams out.

The perforated base allows water to flow evenly through the coffee puck. Unlike dual wall baskets, which rely on pressure and a single exit hole instead of proper extraction.

Ever since I switched to a good single wall basket, I never went back. Those old baskets? Still in a drawer somewhere. 😤

After extensive testing, we can confidently say: this basket is one of the easiest ways to improve your espresso at home.

What makes this portafilter basket stand out:

Good to know: This basket works best in a double spout portafilter, designed for brewing two espressos. That’s why this basket comes standard with our portafilter.

The right basket for your machine

Our portafilter baskets are available in three sizes, making them compatible with most espresso machines:

51mm: De’Longhi Dedica, Solis Grind & Infuse Compact, De’Longhi La Specialista, De’Longhi Icona Vintage.

Important: If you want to use this basket in the original De’Longhi Dedica portafilter, you’ll need to remove the plastic insert first. You don’t need it anyway — it only traps coffee residue 😉

54mm: Sage Barista Express, Sage Barista Impress, Sage Barista Touch, Solis Grind & Infuse Pro, Solis Barista Pro, Solis Perfetta Plus.

58mm: All E61 machines with a 58mm portafilter, including: ECM, Rocket, Vibiemme, Pavoni, Isomac, Cimbali, Fiorenzato, La Marzocco and Kees van der Westen.
