Before I (Jasper) had my barista cups, I was always awkwardly squeezing my way-too-big mugs between my portafilter and my coffee scale.

End result: I spent the whole day washing that one cup that actually fit.

What I really needed was a small glass to catch my espresso and pour it into my mug. An espresso pitcher would have been a good solution.

Still, I chose a shot glass because it comes with one extra advantage.

With this espresso glass, you can immediately see how your extraction is going. The crema layer is visible right away, and the measurement lines let you check whether enough coffee is running through your portafilter.

There’s a lot that goes into pulling the right espresso, and you can keep fine-tuning endlessly.

Don’t want to leave anything up to chance? Then we also recommend a coffee scale. With it, you can weigh both the ground beans and the coffee running through your portafilter down to the milligram.

Note: It’s better not to put the espresso glasses in the dishwasher, as the paint may come off.
